Act Together works hand-in-hand with local leaders and social innovators to co-create initiatives that tackle poverty and strengthen long-term wellbeing in communities affected by inequality.
Complex challenges like poverty and social disadvantage can’t be solved by single programs or one-size-fits all solutions. They require holistic, locally-led, and collaborative responses. Act Together supports developmental leaders and social innovators in communities experiencing inequality - helping them connect, learn, and turn good ideas into action.
Through hands-on, tailored support, including mentoring, technical advice, peer support, and flexible funding, we help people leading social change in their communities to engage in collaboration and action learning, so their initiatives can build effective strategies and stronger capabilities for sustainable impact.

TRUST
We believe that solutions to social problems are most effective when developed by those closest to the challenges. History has shown that external interventions often fail. Using a strengths-based approach, we support local leaders to make informed decisions based on their lived experiences and expertise, undertake consultation and collaboration to develop ideas, and build bottom-up approaches driven by local communities.
LEARNING
We embrace a learning mindset, recognising that no one has all the answers and failure is a powerful way to learn. Internally and with our community partners, we support people to anticipate challenges, identify uncertainties and test assumptions. By conducting small-scale experiments, we can learn from our experiences and apply those lessons to enhance our practices.
SOLIDARITY
We understand that relationships are the foundation of social change. We strive to foster relationships with our community partners that are rooted in mutual care, creating a network of support and solidarity that enhances collective impact.
Our story
We were founded to shift power and resources to those closest to the challenges
Act Together was founded in 2025 to address a persistent gap in the traditional development system. Across communities, there are countless grassroots leaders, social entrepreneurs, and local innovators with deep understanding of the challenges their communities face and inspiring ideas for change. Yet, very little funding or support reaches them.
We created Act Together to change that.
Our mission is to support grassroots leaders and community innovators who are tirelessly working to improve their communities. We do this through flexible funding, mentoring, and technical support — standing alongside them through the ups and downs of social innovation, because we know progress isn’t linear.
At the heart of our work is a belief in relationships, trust, and learning — and a commitment to shifting power to those closest to the challenges.
